Profiles is your personal home in Visual Space. It connects the identity and published work that other people can see with the settings, saved content, and recognition that help you manage your own experience.
One Home With A Clear Privacy Boundary
The most important distinction is between your public profile and your private account areas. Your profile introduces you to other people. Account Settings and View Later belong only to the signed-in account using them.

Your Public Profile
A profile can be opened by its handle, including by signed-out visitors. It brings together the member's banner, avatar, display name, job title, tagline, biography, skills, and public post feed. New members may begin with a simple profile and add more detail when they are ready.
Public identity, skills, and current-space recognition share one profile while private account controls remain separate.
Only the profile owner can edit the profile card. When you open your own profile while signed in, you can update its visible text, skills, avatar, and banner directly on the page. Someone viewing another member's profile sees the resulting information without the editing controls. Build your public profile walks through the owner experience.
The feed below the profile card shows published posts only. Drafts remain private and do not appear when another person visits the profile. If no published posts are available, the page shows an empty feed rather than filling the space with unpublished or unrelated work.
Because the viewed profile and the signed-in account are separate, opening another person's page does not replace your identity elsewhere in Visual Space. Your account panel, author identity, and personal settings continue to describe you.
Recognition In Context
Medals add durable recognition to a profile. They are rare, space-granted acknowledgements for meaningful contributions, rather than a spendable balance or a quick reaction to an individual item.
For signed-in viewers, a profile can show up to six medal types earned in the current space context. View all opens the complete presentation-ready collection for that space, and selecting a medal opens its certificate with the recipient, issuing space, reason, and date. The collection can therefore differ when the same profile is opened from another space.
When you view someone else's profile, you may also be able to give that person a medal. The action depends on your permission and the remaining allowance of an eligible issuing space, and every medal requires a recognition message and certificate review before confirmation. Keep Useful Content For Later
View Later is personal signed-in state. Saving something there does not add it to your public profile or tell profile visitors what you are reading.
Supported posts, articles, documents, files and folders, events, and goals offer View Later in their item menus. Once saved, the same menu offers Remove View Later. Your saved items are collected in the View Later tools panel, where you can reopen an item's area or remove it from the list.
The private saved list stays beside the current workspace and keeps different content types together.
The entry labels describe the same workflow from two sides: content menus use View Later, while the right tools slimbar currently uses Read Later to open the View later panel. Private Controls Belong In Account Settings
Account Settings is the signed-in area for choices that affect your account rather than your public introduction. It includes theme and notification preferences, direct-message safety controls, personal Awards and Medals histories, password security, and subscription management.
Private preferences, safety, recognition history, security, and subscription destinations share one account-settings navigation.
Profile details do not move into settings. Change your avatar, banner, name, job title, tagline, biography, and skills on your own profile page. Use Account Settings when the choice is private or account-wide.

Finding The Right Entry Point
Use another member's profile link when you want to understand who they are, read their published posts, or review their current space recognition. Use the top-right account panel when you want your own Profile, Preferences, account indicators, or theme control. Use the right tools slimbar when you want your saved View Later list without leaving the work already on screen.
Signed-out visitors can still read public profile information. The account panel instead offers sign-in and registration actions, while private destinations such as Account Settings and View Later become useful after sign-in.
Common Questions
Can other people change my profile?
No. Editing controls are available only when the signed-in account owns the profile being viewed.
Will a draft post appear on my profile?
No. The profile feed excludes unpublished drafts and shows only public posts.
Are View Later items part of my public activity?
No. View Later is a personal saved list for the signed-in user and is separate from the public profile feed.
Why can the same profile show different medals in different spaces?
The profile medal showcase is space-scoped. It presents recognition issued in the current space context rather than combining every medal from every space into one public collection.
Where should I change my profile photo or biography?
Open your own Profile and edit the public profile card there. Preferences and Account Settings are for private, account-wide controls.
Where can I review all of my medal history?
Open My medals from Account Settings or its account-panel shortcut. That personal history covers received and gifted medals across spaces, while a profile showcase stays focused on the current space.
