View Later keeps personal bookmarks to work you want to revisit. Save useful content as you browse, group it into collections, and return to the original when you are ready.
A bookmark is a reference, not a copy. Saving an item leaves it in its original location and does not change who can access it. For your own working copy, see My Docs.
Save Without Interrupting Your Work
Use View Later in a supported item's menu. An already saved item can show Remove View Later instead. Posts, articles, events, goals, and Documents all provide supported saving flows. Some media viewers also let you save the source chat message. In My Docs, the equivalent item-menu action is labeled Read Later.
Open the View Later tool from the tools slimbar to see your saved items. The panel loads your own saved collections after you open it.
Open View Later to return to saved content without searching for it again.
Titles, icons, and available image previews help distinguish saved items. Folders keep a folder icon. If a title is unavailable, the item can appear as Untitled.
Collections That Fit Your Work
The permanent View Later collection gives you somewhere to save immediately. Its items sit beneath the main panel heading. Use Add collection from the panel menu when a topic deserves its own group, such as Weekend reading or Workshop ideas.
Custom collection headings can collapse to keep the panel compact. Names allow up to 100 characters, and View Later is reserved for the permanent collection.
A drop saves a reference; it does not move the original document or copy the attachment into your own files. On touch layouts, start an existing bookmark drag with a long press. On desktop, drag with the primary mouse button.
Returning To The Right Place
Select a saved item to reopen its source context. Posts, articles, events, and goals open their content page. Documents open the containing Documents area; the exact file or folder is not highlighted automatically.
Supported saved chat messages open their conversation or activity topic with the saved message selected through its link. You still need access to that conversation or community. A bookmark does not keep deleted content alive or override a later access change.
Clear Bookmarks Without Deleting Source Content
Use Remove from View Later in a saved item's menu when you are finished with it. Collection menus offer broader choices:
Deleting a collection removes its saved references, not the original work. Move anything you still want into another collection before deleting the group.
Share A Saved Link
An eligible bookmark can be dragged into an open activity-chat message bar to add a labeled link to your draft. Review the destination and message before sending; the drop does not send automatically. This works for supported items with enough information to create a link, so it should not be treated as a universal way to share every saved file.
Common Questions
Are my collections public?
No. They belong to the signed-in account. Sharing a link in chat is a separate action.
Can I keep the same bookmark in several collections?
The saved item belongs to one collection. Moving or saving it into another collection reassigns that bookmark rather than making another copy.
Why did a saved document open a list instead of the file?
Document bookmarks currently return to their Documents area without focusing the individual file or folder.
Why can I no longer open an item?
The source may have been removed or your access may have changed. View Later does not preserve a separate copy.
Follow Save and return to content for the complete save, organize, revisit, and remove journey.
