Use this guide to set aside useful content, find it again from your personal saved list, and remove the reminder when you are finished. Before You Save

View Later is available to signed-in users. Start from a supported item whose menu you can open. If you want to share the saved item afterward, you also need an active Activity Chat where you can write a message.

A saved entry is a pointer, not a copy or archive. The original content stays in its owning area and keeps its current access rules. Saving does not preserve the item if it is deleted, and it does not preserve your access if permissions change.

Save The Item And Confirm Its State

Open the item menu - Find the menu for the post, article, document, file, folder, event, or goal you want to revisit.

Choose View Later - Wait for the save action to finish before checking the result.

•

Reopen the menu - A saved item shows Remove View Later in the same place. This confirms that the source recognizes the saved state and also gives you a quick way to reverse it.

An open document or event may keep the earlier menu label until that source is loaded again. If the label still says View Later, open the saved list to confirm that the entry is present. Reload the source before relying on its menu label.

Open Read Later And Return To The Source

Open Read Later - Select it on the right tools slimbar. The View later panel opens beside your current screen.

Let the list load - The panel may briefly show Loading. When ready, each entry shows its saved label and content type.

The settled panel keeps each saved label and content type visible without replacing the work already open behind it.

Find the saved entry - Use the label and type together, especially when several saved items have similar names.

•

Select the entry - Visual Space opens the area that owns the content. Posts, articles, events, and goals use their saved page context to return you to the source.

Documents behave differently: a saved document, file, or folder opens Documents in the relevant space, but it does not currently highlight the exact saved item. Use the saved label to locate it once the Documents area opens.

Because the entry points back to live source content, the destination may have changed since you saved it. If the original item was removed or you no longer have access, View Later cannot supply a private replacement.

Optionally Add The Link To Activity Chat

Some saved entries carry enough page context to become a chat link draft.

Open an active Activity Chat - Make sure its message bar is available, then open Read Later without leaving the chat.

•

Drag the saved entry - Move it from the panel onto the message bar. A valid destination highlights with Drop link into chat.

Drop and review the draft - Check the inserted label and link, and add any explanation your conversation needs. Some content types may return readers to a broader area rather than an exact item.

Send when ready - The drop does not post anything by itself. You must send the message manually.

If the message bar does not accept the entry, keep it in View Later and open it normally. The item may not have the complete page information required for a chat link.

Remove The Saved Reminder

Removing a View Later entry changes only your personal list. It does not delete, move, or edit the source content.

Remove it from the source - Open the source item’s menu and choose Remove View Later.

•

Or remove it from the panel - Open Read Later, use the saved entry’s context menu, and choose Remove from View Later.

Confirm the result - The entry should disappear from the panel. At the source, the menu returns to View Later; reload an already open document or event if its label has not refreshed.

Common Problems

I cannot find the save action.

Confirm that you are signed in, that the item is one of the supported types, and that you can open its item menu. Not every kind of content offers View Later.

The panel says No items saved for later.

Return to the source and save the item again only if its menu still shows View Later. If the source shows Remove View Later, reload the panel before repeating the action.

A saved document did not reopen the exact file or folder.

This is a current navigation limit. View Later opens the relevant Documents area without selecting the saved node.

The saved destination no longer opens for me.

The source may have been removed, moved beyond the saved destination, or become unavailable to your account. The saved pointer does not preserve content or access.

Dragging into chat does nothing.

Use an active Activity Chat with an available message bar. The saved entry must also contain complete page context before the composer can accept it.

You Are Done
