Use this walkthrough to prepare a scheduled community occasion privately, then publish it for members of the right space, subspace, or activity. You will finish with an event card that opens into a detailed event article.

Create a clear invitation that people can discover, understand, and respond to. You will choose its community home, prepare a private draft, check the schedule, and publish the linked event article.

Choose The Destination First

You need Coordinator access and permission to manage events in the destination. The area must be active, and Events must be available for the community. Choose a space-wide event for the whole community or a subspace or activity for a focused occasion.

•
Open the right Events page - Select the community area before creating. Its visibility will determine the event's audience.
•
Choose New Event - Begin a draft and open its article. From public Events, choose the eligible destination when prompted.
•
Or begin with a time range - In a community calendar, select days in Month or slots in Week. The editor starts with that selected interval.

Opening an editor creates a draft; you do not need to publish immediately. If editor loading fails, use Try again rather than starting another event.

Make The Invitation Useful

•
Name the occasion - Write a title people can recognize and short keywords such as Workshop. The title is required; keywords allow 30 characters and the title allows 300.
•
Check Start and End - Set both dates and times deliberately. A newly created event may begin with a default day-long interval. Do not leave that default unless it is what you intend.
•
Choose Repeat when needed - Daily, Weekly, and Monthly share one article and attendance response across their occurrences. Leave No recurrence for an independent occasion.
•
Write the details - Explain the purpose, audience, preparation, agenda, and joining arrangements. Add supporting links or an image when they make the invitation clearer.

Color can help people recognize the event in a busy calendar, but the title and body should explain it without relying on color.

The event article keeps scheduling and attendance beside its agenda and discussion.

Review And Publish

•
Check the whole invitation - Re-read the destination, dates, times, repetition, and body. If you selected a different Week display offset, compare it carefully with the local times shown in the article editor.
•
Wait for saved changes - Resolve any save error before publishing. You can close and reopen your draft to continue saved work later.
•
Publish the event - Use the editor's publication action. Publication makes the event and article available to the permitted audience together.
•
Verify the result - Return to Events, find the event outside your drafts, and open it. Check the title, schedule, and article rather than relying only on a button click.

If publication reports an error, keep your content and check the event's saved state before trying again. A failed request is not confirmation that the community can see it.

Help People Find It

Public-area events can appear in public discovery. Area members can find the occasion in their community calendar and respond Confirmed, Tentative, or Declined. Publishing does not automatically create a discussion-feed announcement, so share the event link in the appropriate conversation when you want to invite attention.

For a scheduled online gathering, use a subspace or activity destination. Its published event can start a meeting at the saved start and invite the author plus confirmed and tentative participants. A repeating calendar series does not launch a separate automatic meeting at every recurrence.

Return To An Unfinished Draft

Open your drafts from the Events header, select the event, and continue editing. Only your own drafts appear there. If no draft switch is present, check whether the event was already published or whether you are viewing a different area.

Next, learn how to update the details and schedule or plan directly in the calendar.
