Visual Space manual, Reports, Report Review

Reviewing a report is a case-by-case decision about one concern and the post it refers to. The Reports area keeps the rule, the reporter's explanation, and the post together so authorized reviewers can make a considered decision instead of reacting to a count alone. This area is for space owners and members whose role gives them access to **Reports**. Ordinary members can [report content](../reporting-content.md), but they do not have access to the space's review queue.

Report review brings a member's concern together with the content it describes. The aim is to make a considered decision about the post, using the selected rule and the available context rather than the number of people who reported it.

The space owner and joined members with Manage Content permission can use the space's Reports area. Ordinary members can submit reports, but cannot decide them.

Read The Whole Case

A pending card shows the rule, its description, any User Note, and the reported post. Read these together. The note may explain something the post alone does not reveal, but it is a concern to assess rather than proof of intent.

Review new cases here. Resolved decisions and removed posts have their own tabs.

Check the surrounding content when the meaning depends on a conversation. Space maintainers may also encounter reports directly above posts in the feed, and a pending-report count opens the individual concerns for that post.

Choose A Decision

Before selecting an outcome, use Add note if another reviewer will need to understand your reasoning. A brief explanation of the content and rule is usually enough. The note is saved with the decision.

•
Approve resolves the concern while leaving visibility unchanged. It does not endorse every statement in the post or imply that reporting was improper.
•
Remove resolves the report and applies a reversible moderation removal to the post.
•
Spam resolves the report as spam and applies the same kind of removal. It does not promise automated filtering or an account penalty.

Approve does not restore removed content. A post may already be hidden by a separate removal or by a removed containing document. Restoration belongs to the Removed posts tab.

Decision controls are disabled while saving. If the request fails, an error appears and the card remains available for another attempt; do not assume a click alone completed the review.

New And Resolved Reports

New Reports counts pending cases, not distinct posts. Your accepted decision moves the case into Resolved Reports and updates the pending count. If another reviewer has been working at the same time, reopen the Reports page to load the current state.

Resolved cards show the saved decision and any moderator note as read-only information. They do not offer decision buttons, note editing, or a return-to-pending action. This lets you consult the outcome without changing it accidentally.

If content was removed in error, use Removed Posts to assess whether you can restore it. The report's saved decision remains unchanged after restoration.

Several Concerns About One Post

Each report is a separate case. Members may select different rules or provide different context, even when they report the same post. Read the remaining concerns after resolving one case.

The feed's grouped report list updates as cases are resolved. It closes when no pending concerns remain or the post disappears. A remaining report indicator can therefore mean that another case is still pending, rather than that your previous decision failed.

Keep Notes In Their Review Context

Write moderator notes so another authorized reviewer can understand the reason for your choice. Avoid personal speculation and unnecessary details about the reporter. Report notes are not a substitute for a public reply to the post.

Common Questions

Can I change a resolved decision?

The resolved card has no editing controls. To return eligible removed content, use the separate restoration workflow.

Can every reported content type be reviewed here?

Posts have the complete queue and decision workflow. Do not assume the same end-to-end coverage for other content types.

Why can't I see Reports?

Ask the space owner to check your membership and Manage Content permission if review is part of your responsibilities.

Does restoring a post clear its reports?

No. It changes the moderation removal; saved report decisions remain as they were.
