Visual Space manual, Reports, Review And Resolve A Reported Post
This walkthrough takes a reported post from the new queue to a verified decision in resolved history. Use it when you are responsible for reviewing reports in a particular space and want to preserve a clear record for other authorized reviewers.
Review a pending post report, record your decision, and verify the saved result. You need to be the space owner or a joined member with Manage Content permission.
Open The Case
•
Choose the space - Open the community that owns the reported post.
•
Open Settings, then Reports - Wait for the queue to load and select New Reports. Its count represents cases, so several reports may refer to one post.
•
Read the rule and User Note - Establish the concern the member raised before judging the content.
•
Examine the post - Read the reported content and consider its context. A report count is not a verdict.
Review new cases here. Resolved decisions and removed posts have their own tabs.
If Reports is missing, ask the space owner to check your role and membership. Ordinary member access does not include deciding reports.
Record One Outcome
•
Add a Moderator Note if useful - Select Add note and briefly explain the evidence and rule behind your decision. The note will be saved with the outcome.
•
Choose the appropriate action - Select Approve to resolve the concern without changing visibility, Remove to apply a moderation removal, or Spam to record spam and apply that removal.
•
Wait for saving to finish - Controls are disabled during submission. If an error appears, review the card and retry after the problem is resolved.
Choose one outcome. Approve does not restore content that has already been removed, and Spam does not promise an automatic account penalty.
Verify The Saved Decision
Your successful decision moves the case from New Reports to Resolved Reports and adjusts the pending count.
•
Open Resolved Reports - Find the case and check its displayed decision and moderator note.
•
Check remaining concerns - Return to New Reports. If another case concerns the same post, read that member's rule and note separately.
•
Reload shared work when needed - Reopen Reports if another reviewer has been making decisions and you need the latest queue state.
The completed card is read-only: it has no decision buttons or note editor. If removed content should return, follow Restore A Removed Post; this does not change the saved report decision.
If The Result Is Unexpected
•
A report indicator remains - The post may have another pending concern. Open its report count and review the remaining cases.
•
The case is still pending after an error - The decision did not complete successfully. Do not treat the button click as confirmation.
•
The post remains hidden after Approve - Approval leaves visibility unchanged. A separate removal or a removed containing document may still apply.
•
You cannot change a resolved card - This is expected. Resolved Reports is a read-only record.
Report Review explains the decisions in more depth. Removed Posts covers restoration rights and visibility limits.
