Use this walkthrough to keep a published event accurate as plans change. You will update the event article, make only the schedule changes allowed by its current state, and confirm that the article and event card still agree.

Use this guide when an invitation needs a clearer agenda, a corrected time, or a change to its repeating schedule. You will edit the existing event and check the result in the calendar and article.

You must be the author or have event-management access, and you must be able to access the event's community area. A reader's attendance response does not grant editing rights.

Open The Existing Invitation

•
Find the event - Open its card, select it in the community calendar, or follow the article link.
•
Read the current details - Confirm that you have the right occasion and inspect Start, End, and Repeat before changing anything.
•
Use the full page if helpful - From a calendar side panel, Go to Event opens the article with more room to work.

The event article keeps scheduling and attendance beside its agenda and discussion.

Make The Change At Its Source

•
Revise the explanation - Update the title, keywords, or article body. Put consequential changes where returning participants can notice them, such as a short schedule-change note near the agenda.
•
Adjust Start and End - Select the dates or times in the event header. If moving Start beyond End advances the end date, review both values again so the duration is intentional.
•
Check Repeat - Changing a recurring event changes the shared series. Use a separate event if one session needs independent details or attendance.
•
Choose Color if useful - Use the preset palette to update the event's shared calendar color, or return to the default.

The article editor uses local time. A Week calendar may be displaying a different fixed offset, so compare the same instant rather than expecting identical hour labels.

Editing permission applies even when the original dates have passed. You can correct a historical interval, but explain why if readers might otherwise mistake the change for a new invitation.

Confirm What Was Saved

•
Resolve errors - If saving reports a problem, check your connection and access. Reopen the event to inspect the saved values before making another correction.
•
Use View in Calendar - From the article, open the saved schedule in Week view and inspect the highlighted event.
•
Read it as a participant - Check the updated interval and the article's instructions together. An invitation is only useful when they agree.

Other members' open community Events lists can refresh after a change. That does not prove everyone has seen a new time. Share the revised event link in the relevant conversation when a change affects people's plans.

For a quick move or duration adjustment to a non-recurring event, see Plan and reschedule in the calendar. For series behavior, read Calendar and recurring events.
