The Events calendar helps you plan a shared schedule without losing the article that explains each occasion. It combines Month and Week views, direct scheduling gestures, and repeating events in the community area where the work happens.

The Events calendar helps you plan a shared schedule without losing the article that explains each occasion. It combines Month and Week views, direct scheduling gestures, and repeating events in the community area where the work happens.

Choose The Right Scale

Month gives a broad view across six calendar rows. Events that span several days continue across the relevant cells and weeks. An event ending exactly at midnight does not occupy the following day. When a day has more entries than fit, hover over its hidden-event count to inspect the remaining events.

Week places events against an hourly grid so that overlaps and gaps are easier to compare. Today returns to the current period; arrows and the date selector take you elsewhere. All events is available when you would rather browse cards.

Select an event in the community calendar to open its article alongside the schedule. Close the panel, press Escape, or click outside it to keep planning. Go to Event opens the full article. Browser Back and Forward can restore the selected date, view, and event panel.

The calendar places events in time while retaining the current space and activity context.

Be Deliberate About Time Zones

The Week grid has a time-zone selector offering fixed hourly offsets from GMT-12 through GMT+14, including UTC. The choice is remembered on your device. Changing it changes where times appear in the grid; it does not move the actual event.

The Week selector uses a fixed offset, not a named city's daylight-saving rules. For example, GMT+2 stays GMT+2. Recheck the offset when planning across a seasonal clock change. Fractional-hour zones are not offered by this selector.

The article's date and time editor uses your local time. If you deliberately use a different Week offset, expect the same instant to have a different displayed hour in the article. Check the offset before selecting a new time range.

Create And Adjust A Schedule

In your community calendar, select days in Month or drag across half-hour slots in Week to start a draft for that interval. Creation requires Coordinator access and permission to manage events in an active destination.

For an existing non-recurring event, an author or permitted event manager can:

•
Drag the event to move its scheduled interval.
•
Resize its boundary to change its duration.
•
Open the article and edit Start or End for a precise correction.

Touch layouts use long presses for calendar gestures. During a gesture, the preview shows the proposed interval. Release in the grid to save it, or press Escape to discard the preview. If saving fails, the calendar returns to the saved schedule and reports the error.

Moving an event in Month preserves its time of day while changing the date. Week uses half-hour scheduling steps. The event must retain a positive duration; use the article editor when you need to inspect the complete dates and times.

Repeat A Shared Occasion

The event header's Repeat control offers No recurrence, Daily, Weekly, and Monthly. A repeated series appears wherever its occurrences meet the visible calendar range. Monthly repetition uses the original day when it exists and the last day of a shorter month when it does not: a series anchored on the 31st can appear on February's last day.

Every occurrence opens the same article and attendance responses. Change the source event to update the series. Individual occurrences cannot be dragged or resized separately, and there is no per-occurrence exception editor.

Choose separate events when each session needs its own agenda, attendance, or one-off rescheduling. Calendar repetition also does not create a new automatic meeting for every occurrence.

Make The Calendar Easier To Read

Choose Color in the event header or an available event menu to assign a preset color. Returning to the default restores blue. Color belongs to the event, so other readers see the saved choice too; it is not a private personal category.

Clear titles remain essential. Use color to support recognition, while the title and article explain what participants are committing to.

Common Questions

Why can I read but not drag an event?

Public discovery calendars are read-only. In a community calendar, you need authorship or event-management permission, and the event must not be recurring.

Can I correct dates that have already passed?

Yes, with editing access. Current schedule controls do not lock solely because an event has begun or ended. Explain changes to historical dates when they could confuse readers.

Does a time-zone change alter the invitation for everyone?

No. The Week offset is your device's display preference. Moving the event or editing its dates changes the actual invitation.

Try Plan and reschedule in the calendar, or Update event details and schedule.
