Choose a meeting view around the work you need to see. Grid gives you the room at a glance; Stage keeps one feed large with the others nearby; Focus makes room for detailed work.
Changing the layout affects only your view. It does not stop a share, mute someone, or choose a layout for everyone else.
Feeds Are The Building Blocks
The stage can contain a participant's camera or audio presence, separate screen shares, and supported live apps. A person sharing a window can appear twice: once as a participant and once as the window they are presenting.
This separation lets you enlarge a presentation without losing the presenter's presence. Multiple participants can share screens at the same time, and each share is independently selectable.
Grid For The Whole Room
Grid arranges the available feeds together. Use it to check who is present, notice another shared screen, or find the app you want to follow. Select a feed to make it the main Stage view.
Grid keeps every available feed visible at once for an all-room view.
Stage For A Speaker Or Presentation
Stage gives one selected feed the main surface and keeps the others in a carousel. Select a different carousel item when the discussion moves to another person, screen, or app.
Stage enlarges one feed while keeping the remaining feeds nearby in the carousel.
Focus For Detailed Work
Focus hides the carousel while retaining the selected feed. It is useful for small text in a shared document, close inspection of an image, or a presentation where the other feeds would distract.
Focus removes the carousel so the selected feed receives the most room.
Return to Stage to recover the carousel, or to Grid for all feeds. Grid clears the current featured-feed choice. Reopening a meeting can restore its last selected feed and layout; if the feed has ended, choose another available source.
Fullscreen And Available Space
On desktop, Enter full screen gives the meeting more display space. Fullscreen changes the window area; Focus changes which feeds occupy it. You can use them together.
Meeting controls can fade after pointer inactivity. Move the pointer over the stage or its controls to reveal them again. The activities panel can also be opened or hidden to balance room context with stage space. On smaller screens, more meeting actions are available through the expandable options drawer.
Make Room For Other Work
Close the stage to reveal the owning activity chat or direct-message conversation without leaving the call. After the stage has been viewed, picture-in-picture keeps a selected feed nearby as you navigate elsewhere.

Drag the preview to a corner or collapse it toward a side edge. Restore the edge tag before selecting the preview to reopen the full stage. Your microphone, camera, and shared screen keep their current states throughout.
Use the red Leave meeting control when you actually want to disconnect.
Common Questions
Does everyone have to watch the same screen share?
No. Each participant selects their own feed and layout. Share your screen and choose a view explains how to publish a source and check it.
What if I am alone in the room?
The solo view offers Invite People and, in an activity meeting, Start Live App. You can bring eligible participants in or prepare shared work while waiting.
Can I work in a live app from the stage?
Supported live apps have their own controls and access rules inside the meeting. See Live apps. A screen share is a presentation of another screen; it does not provide that app's editing controls.
Does picture-in-picture change the call?
No. It changes how much space the meeting takes. Follow Keep working during a meeting to move, collapse, and restore it.
