Q&A
Q&A turns an article into an open question that people can answer, rank, and discuss in its space context. The question keeps the familiar article and feed experience, while the Q&A discussion adds voting, rich-text answers, and short comments attached directly to the question or an answer.
Ask And Answer A Question
This walkthrough takes one question from a private article draft into the Q&A feed, then follows a contributor through answering, voting, and adding a direct comment. Use it when an open response and community ranking will be more useful than fixed poll choices.
Whiteboards
Whiteboards give a space a persistent visual workspace for thinking, planning, diagramming, and review. A board can hold quick notes and sketches, but it can also bring in documents, goals, events, people, space areas, images, and structured data. The result stays connected to the work around it instead of becoming an isolated picture.
Whiteboard Guide
Whiteboards help teams turn ideas, plans, references, and discussion into a persistent visual workspace connected to the rest of their space. Start with the overview, explore the part of the board you need, or follow a complete journey from creation through collaborative review.
Collaboration And Context
Whiteboard collaboration is more than several people drawing at once. The board combines a live canvas, participant awareness, a paired article, shared comments, object-level notes, and a reusable meeting workspace. Together, those surfaces let a group move from a fast workshop to a reviewable result without detaching the visual work from its space.
Board Tools And Objects
Whiteboard tools are designed to work together. A rough note can become a task, a few shapes can become a flow, and the finished plan can carry live links to the documents, people, goals, events, and areas behind the work. The result is a canvas that remains useful after the brainstorming session ends.
Create And Open A Whiteboard
This walkthrough creates a persistent Whiteboard in the right space area, confirms what the linked draft means, and brings you back to the same board after you leave. Use it when the board needs a clear home in Documents rather than becoming a one-session sketch.
Collaborate Review And Export
Use this walkthrough to turn an existing Whiteboard into a calm live review, attach decisions to the work, confirm that the result survives a reopen, and save a focused PNG snapshot. It is designed for a facilitator or collaborator who can edit the board and contribute to its linked article and comments.
Build A Visual Plan
Use this walkthrough to turn an empty Whiteboard into a compact visual plan that another person can understand at a glance. You will create a clear title, decisions, tasks, a connected flow, and freehand review marks, then reorganize the result and reopen the board to confirm that the working canvas returned.
Add Data And Workspace References
Use this guide to turn an existing visual plan into a working board with structured data and direct routes to the people, places, and source material behind it. You can add only the objects that strengthen the plan: a status table may be enough for a small review, while a larger launch board might combine charts with selected workspace references and visual markers.
Wiki
Wiki gives a space a calm, curated place to read the published articles that deserve a longer life. Instead of asking readers to search every feed or browse the whole document library, maintainers can collect durable guidance, decisions, explanations, and reference material in one space-level knowledge tree.
Curate A Wiki
Use this walkthrough to add durable published articles to a space Wiki, confirm that each page appears in the right place, and remove a Wiki placement without changing the source article.
Browse And Read A Wiki
Use this walkthrough to enter the right space, find its curated knowledge, and open a Wiki page with confidence. For the wider purpose and boundaries of the feature, start with the [Wiki overview](../wiki.md).
Wiki Guide
Wiki collects a space's durable published knowledge in one expandable reading tree. Start with the overview, follow the reader journey, or learn how eligible maintainers build the collection without creating a second folder structure.
Find Join And Reopen Spaces
This walkthrough helps you discover a public Space, inspect it before joining, place it in your personal rail, and use the rail as a reliable return point. It also explains how invitation-only Spaces enter the same navigation.
Create Subspaces And Activities
This walkthrough turns an empty or growing Space into a clear working structure. You will create a Subspace, add a focused Activity inside it, publish both with the right access, and verify how they appear to members.
Create And Publish A Space
This walkthrough creates a new Space, prepares its identity and onboarding context, publishes it with the intended privacy boundary, and verifies the result in the joined-spaces rail.
Spaces
Spaces are shared homes for communities, teams, projects, and interests. A space brings people, identity, guidance, and connected work into one recognizable place, so members can understand where they are and keep finding the right context as the community grows. The structure is broad enough for a whole organization but still useful for a small group. Members join the space once, then move through its areas and apps without rebuilding the same map in every tool.
Space Areas
A space area is a space, subspace, or activity. The term is useful when the same idea applies at every level, but it does not add another level to the product. Together, the three areas give a community one dependable map for conversation, content, planning, and live collaboration.
Membership
Joining a space does two things at once: it makes your signed-in account a member of that community, and it adds the space to your personal navigation. That joined state follows you across Visual Space, so communities you return to often remain easy to reach.
Spaces Guide
Spaces give a community a shared home, a clear map of its work, and a dependable way for members to return. Use this guide to understand the Space hierarchy, join and navigate communities, build focused areas, or manage a Space you own.
Community Guidance
The space information panel keeps the community's most useful orientation beside the current workspace. It helps a member answer a practical question without leaving the Feed, Chat, article, or app they are using: what should I notice, where can I learn more, and what standards apply here?
Transfer Space Ownership
This walkthrough hands a Space to another joined member and verifies the authority change. Use it when responsibility for the whole community is genuinely moving, not as a temporary substitute for a powerful Role.
Set Up Community Guidance
This walkthrough builds a practical onboarding layer for a Space. You will add local rules, maintain useful links, select current priorities with Space Pins, and check that an ordinary member can understand what to do next.
Manage Private Area Access
This walkthrough gives the right people access to a private Space, Subspace, or Activity, verifies the boundary from both sides, and removes access without confusing membership with authority.
Invite And Manage Members
This walkthrough invites someone into a Space, follows their response, and verifies the resulting membership. It is useful when a Space is growing or when a private community is ready to admit another member.
Create And Manage Roles
This walkthrough takes a role from a clear responsibility to a verified member assignment, then shows how to change or retire it without surprising the people who depend on it. Use it when a Space needs to delegate coordination, moderation, publishing, or administration without transferring ownership.
Space Administration
Space administration is where an owner or authorized manager changes the shared Space itself. These settings shape what members see, how the Space is governed, and how much content it can hold. They are separate from personal Preferences, which affect only one person's experience.
Roles And Permissions
Roles let a Space divide responsibility without forcing every community into the same staff structure. A film collective might use `Producer` and `Review Lead`; a study group might prefer `Facilitator` and `Curriculum Maintainer`. Each name represents a bundle of capabilities that can be reused for several members and, when needed, limited to a particular part of the Space.
Members And Invites
Member administration helps a Space welcome people, understand who has joined, and hand over ownership when responsibility changes. It brings several related states into view, but it does not turn them into one kind of access.
Admin Guide
Space Administration helps owners and trusted managers shape the shared community without confusing Space-wide settings with personal Preferences. Use these pages to choose the right authority, invite people, maintain access, and make high-impact changes carefully.
Activities Panel
The Activities panel is the working map of a space. It keeps subspaces, activities, update signals, and nearby document folders within reach while the main workspace changes between Feed, Chat, Documents, Meetings, Goals, Events, and other available apps.
About Pages
An About page explains a space area before the reader commits to its day-to-day work. It brings identity, purpose, useful activity, and a path into deeper context together in one quieter view.
Search Within A Space
Use a space-scoped search when you know which community owns the work but not exactly where it lives. You will keep one query inside the current space, refine its accessible results, and then broaden the same search to **Global** when you need a wider view.
Find Documents And Media
Use this walkthrough when you remember a filename, folder, or Visual Space document but not exactly where it lives. You will narrow Search to the Docs family, compare document and media matches, and open the right item in the Documents context available to you.
Find Content Across Visual Space
Use Global Search when you remember a name, phrase, or topic but not which space or content type owns it. This walkthrough helps you search broadly, narrow only when the results give you a reason, open the best match, and return to the same search session.
Search Scope And Access
Search can look across Visual Space or stay within the space you are currently using. That choice changes the range of a query, but it never opens content that you could not already read. This distinction matters most when a familiar item is missing. The active scope may be too narrow, or your current access may not include the space, area, or conversation that owns the item. Search keeps both boundaries visible and applies them together.
Search
Search gives you one place to discover accessible communities, people, conversations, and shared work across Visual Space. Enter a phrase once, then explore matching spaces, posts and articles, goals, events, Docs, messages, or profiles without first guessing which module owns them.
Results And Filters
Search results help you turn a broad phrase into a useful set of matches. Start with [Search](search.md) for the full discovery picture, then use content, ranking, and time controls to bring the most promising results forward.
Search Guide
Search helps you find accessible communities, people, conversations, and shared work without first knowing which part of Visual Space owns them. Use this guide to understand the discovery experience, choose the right scope and filters, or follow a complete search journey.
Review Medals And Certificates
Use this guide to explore the Medals shown on a member's profile, read a saved certificate, and review your own complete Medal history across spaces. The profile and account views answer different questions, so using both gives you the clearest picture.
Review Awards And Balance
Use `My awards` to check how many Awards you can still give, revisit recognition connected to your work, and review the Awards you have gifted. This is your personal account view; receiving an Award does not increase the balance you can spend.
Give An Award
Use this guide to recognize a contribution with an illustrated Award and choose how much emphasis to give it. You can Award supported content, a message in public space chat, another participant in an active activity meeting, or a whiteboard.
Give A Medal
Give a Medal when another member has made a meaningful contribution that deserves lasting recognition from a space. This walkthrough takes you from choosing the recipient and issuing space to verifying that the Medal was accepted.
Medals
Medals are Visual Space's rare form of recognition for contributions that deserve to be remembered. A Medal is given on behalf of a space, carries a personal reason, and becomes a lasting certificate for the recipient. For the broader recognition picture, including everyday Awards, start with [Rewards](rewards.md).
Rewards Guide
Rewards helps people choose the right kind of recognition: illustrated Awards for everyday contributions, or rare Medals for lasting impact recognized by a space. Start with the full overview, explore either recognition type, or follow a complete giving and review journey.
Awards
Awards turn a quick thank-you into illustrated, visible recognition. Each Award carries a style, a quantity, and the identity of the person who gave it, so appreciation stays connected to the contribution that inspired it. Unlike a reaction, an Award uses part of your spendable balance. That makes it useful when a post, idea, message, or live contribution deserves a stronger signal. Awards are designed for everyday appreciation; [Medals](medals.md) are the rarer, lasting form of recognition.
Report A Post Or Article
Use this guide to send a clear, private concern about a post or loaded article for review. Reporting asks someone with the right space access to examine the content against a selected rule. **It does not automatically hide or remove the content.**
