Notifications bring important activity into one calm inbox, with direct paths back to the places where it happened.
Your Notification Center
•
At-a-glance counter - Signed-in users can see how much new activity is waiting before opening Notifications from the tools bar.
•
Important updates together - The list covers new public posts, space areas, role assignments, awards, comments, and reactions. Policy changes and Visual Space updates appear there too. The Notifications guide explains this unified activity center.
•
Useful context - Every row explains the update, who caused it when relevant, and when it happened.
•
Newest activity first - Recent updates stay at the top, while grouped engagement returns there when more activity arrives.
•
Read when ready - Opening, scrolling, and following notifications leave unread highlights in place until users choose Mark all as read.
•
Older activity - Users can scroll or choose Load more to revisit older notices without loading the entire inbox at once.
•
Background updates - The counter refreshes while Notifications is closed, helping users spot activity without repeatedly opening the panel.
Go Straight To What Changed
•
Direct destinations - Selecting an item can open the related post, article, chat, space, subspace, or activity.
•
Awards and roles - Award notifications return recipients to recognized work, while role notifications name the role and open its space.
•
Official updates - Visual Space articles open in a focused reader without replacing the current screen, while policy updates open the hosted Terms page.
Less Noise
•
Expandable summaries - More than five events of the same kind fold into a summary, keeping busy inboxes readable while preserving individual notices.
•
Follow the conversation - Expand comments or reactions to see the affected posts or chat messages, then reveal individual people, comment previews, and emoji.
•
Separate open actions - A content title opens its destination, while the count and arrow expand the notification details.
•
Stable read history - Marking everything as read keeps that history together, while later engagement starts a separate unread group.
•
Meaningful counter - Group totals and the unread counter cover the whole inbox, including events whose details have not been expanded.
•
Clear the history - Clear all notifications removes the account's notification history, including older pages, without deleting the related content or changing future preferences.
•
No self-alerts - Users do not receive notifications for supported actions they perform on their own content.
•
Private access respected - Space-area updates go only to members who can access the related place.
•
Conversation alerts stay separate - Chat and direct-message unread indicators remain with their conversations instead of filling the global notification center.
Choose What Reaches You
•
Global preferences - Users can open notification preferences from the panel menu or Account Settings and mute each notification family everywhere. The notification preferences guide explains global defaults and space exceptions.
•
Posts by choice - New-post alerts start disabled unless users enable them, helping keep the inbox focused on activity that needs their attention.
•
Area exceptions - Users can mute an enabled notification family for a specific space, subspace, or activity without changing other areas.
•
Global mute wins - Muting a family globally disables its area controls while preserving saved exceptions for when it is enabled again.
•
Simple inheritance - Removing an area exception restores the global choice for that area. Exceptions apply to the selected area rather than automatically muting its children.
•
Smaller screens - Area settings appear beside the selection tree on desktop and beneath the selected area on mobile.
Current Delivery
•
In-app activity - Ordinary activity notifications stay in the app. Device push, sound alerts, and active meeting reminders are not included.
•
Engagement refresh - Comment and reaction activity can appear on the next refresh or when the panel reopens, rather than immediately.
•
Earlier summaries - Older grouped activity may lack individual people, comment previews, or emoji that were not retained at the time.

Analytics β optional
Only if you allow it, we count page views, daily visitors and recent activity using a random daily device identifier and broad page, source, device and country categories. General audience totals are not linked to your account. Accepting also enables ad campaign measurement for 30 days using a separate random identifier to measure exploration, account creation and returning days. Campaign attribution can be linked to your newly created account. We do not send page addresses.
Analytics totals are kept for 13 months; general audience identifiers expire within 48 hours. Campaign attribution lasts 30 days. Reopen Cookie preferences at any time to change your choice or turn analytics off.
