Notifications bring important activity into one calm inbox, with direct paths back to the places where it happened.

Your Notification Center

At-a-glance counter - Signed-in users can see how much new activity is waiting before opening Notifications from the tools bar.
Important updates together - The list covers new public posts, space areas, role assignments, awards, comments, and reactions. Policy changes and Visual Space updates appear there too. The Notifications guide explains this unified activity center.
Useful context - Every row explains the update, who caused it when relevant, and when it happened.
Newest activity first - Recent updates stay at the top, while grouped engagement returns there when more activity arrives.
Clear read state - Opening Notifications marks the loaded items as read while briefly highlighting what was new.

Go Straight To What Changed

Direct destinations - Selecting an item can open the related post, article, chat, space, subspace, or activity.
Awards and roles - Award notifications return recipients to recognized work, while role notifications name the role and open its space.
Official updates - Visual Space articles open in a focused reader without replacing the current screen, while policy updates open the hosted Terms page.

Less Noise

Grouped engagement - New comments and reactions on the same content share one row that shows how much unseen activity arrived.
Meaningful counter - Grouped comments and reactions contribute their unseen totals, so the counter reflects activity instead of notification rows.
No self-alerts - Users do not receive notifications for supported actions they perform on their own content.
Private access respected - Space-area updates go only to members who can access the related place.
Conversation alerts stay separate - Chat and direct-message unread indicators remain with their conversations instead of filling the global notification center.

Choose What Reaches You

Global preferences - Users can enable or disable each notification family from the Notifications page in Account Settings. The notification preferences guide explains global defaults and space exceptions.
Space-level choices - Each space, subspace, or activity can override the user's global choice when it needs different attention.
Simple inheritance - Area settings follow the global choice until the user creates an exception, then return to it when that exception is removed.

Current Delivery

In-app notifications - This release focuses on the in-app notification center. Email, device push, sound alerts, and active meeting reminders are not included.
