An Abo is your monthly platform role in Visual Space. It sets whether you use the Free participation baseline, support the platform as a Contributor, or unlock eligible organizing workflows as a Coordinator.
Choosing an Abo is about how you participate across Visual Space, not about buying entry to a particular space. Membership, private areas, ownership, and role permissions still decide where you can go and what you can do.
Compare the Three Roles
Free, Contributor, and Coordinator form one set of alternatives. You have one active Abo at a time:
Contributor is a good fit when you value the community and want useful personal benefits without taking on an organizing role. It does not grant Coordinator-only capabilities. Coordinator is intended for founders, educators, project leads, and community organizers who need to facilitate work inside spaces they can already access.
Platform Roles compares the three Abo choices while the active Coordinator state remains visible without opening checkout.
What the Monthly Benefits Mean
The ad-free benefit follows your active Contributor or Coordinator Abo. The Awards are a monthly allowance for quick, item-level appreciation, while purchased Award top-ups remain a separate balance. Monthly Awards follow the active Abo rather than becoming a permanent stockpile.
Included storage arrives as assignable Space Storage Boost. It is not automatically added to every space you join. You choose where to assign it from Manage Subscription, and the selected space receives the extra capacity for shared work. Contributor provides 10 GB; Coordinator provides 25 GB. If the Abo expires, its subscription-derived storage benefit is removed from the space where it was assigned.
Organize Work as a Coordinator
Coordinator unlocks supported organizing workflows for Goals, Events, Meetings or live-app creation, Whiteboards, and Retrospectives. These capabilities help you set direction, bring people together, and run collaborative sessions rather than only participate in work that someone else has prepared.
Coordinator is an eligibility layer, not a permission override. It never makes you a member of a space, reveals private areas, changes ownership, or grants a missing space role. A workflow can require both Coordinator and the appropriate access in that space. Paid creative or engineering apps may also require their own app access when the task belongs to that app rather than to the Coordinator role.
Keep App Access Separate
App subscriptions are additive and do not replace your Abo. A standalone app or app pack can be combined with Free, Contributor, or Coordinator, so you can choose platform participation and specialist tools independently.
Coordinator includes Whiteboard and Retrospectives access, but it does not include every creative or engineering app. For the exact pack, standalone-app, viewing, and editing choices, see App Access.
Get Started
If you already have Contributor and want Coordinator, use the conservative change path: cancel Contributor through the platform where you bought it, keep using it through the current billing period, then start Coordinator after the old subscription has ended. Visual Space asks for this sequence to reduce the risk of two active subscriptions.

Common Questions
Can I have Contributor and Coordinator together?
No. They are mutually exclusive platform roles, not benefits designed to stack. App subscriptions can be added separately to whichever Abo you use.
Does Coordinator let me organize any space?
No. Coordinator unlocks eligible product workflows, while each space still applies its own membership, privacy, ownership, and role permissions.
Does Contributor include Goals, Events, Meetings, Whiteboards, or Retrospectives creation?
Contributor does not grant Coordinator-only powers. You can still participate in shared work where your space access permits it, but eligible organizing workflows require Coordinator.
What happens to my monthly Awards if my paid Abo ends?
The monthly allowance follows the active subscription and is cleared when that subscription ends. Awards you already gave remain visible, and separately purchased Award top-ups are not deleted with the Abo.
Can I use included storage in any space?
You can assign it to a space you have joined. The assignment improves that space's capacity, but it does not change access or upload permissions.
Why must I cancel Contributor before buying Coordinator?
Visual Space uses a conservative change flow to avoid accidental dual subscriptions. Manage the current purchase on its owning platform, wait for it to end, and then start Coordinator.
Can I buy an app while staying on Free or Contributor?
Yes. App packs and standalone app subscriptions are separate from the Abo and can be added to Free, Contributor, or Coordinator.
