Space Boosts let you direct extra capacity to the spaces that need it. A Boost belongs to you when you buy it or receive it through an eligible subscription. It does not change any space until you assign it.

That separation is useful when you work across several spaces. You can keep a Boost available, give it to one joined space, or move it as your projects change. Once assigned, the benefit belongs to the chosen space in practice: everyone uploading there uses the improved space limit, not only the person who supplied the Boost.

Choose the Capacity a Space Needs

Visual Space offers two kinds of standalone Boost, each currently priced at EUR 4.99 per month:

5 GB Space Boost - Adds 5 GB of storage for files and media in the assigned space.
Upload Headroom Add-on - Adds 5 MB to the space-wide per-file upload limit.

These solve different problems. A storage Boost gives the space more room for content that counts toward its storage use. Upload headroom helps when an individual file is slightly larger than the space's normal upload limit. It does not add storage and cannot make an upload succeed when the space lacks enough available capacity.

The reverse matters too: adding storage does not automatically raise the per-file upload limit. A space may have plenty of capacity but still need upload headroom for a larger file. Check which limit is stopping the upload before choosing a Boost.

Receive Storage with an Abo or Pack

You do not always need to buy a standalone storage Boost. Some recurring products include assignable storage as part of their wider benefits:

Contributor includes 10 GB of assignable space storage.
Coordinator includes 25 GB of assignable space storage.
Designer Pack includes 20 GB, supplied as four independently assignable 5 GB Boosts.

Designer Pack's split supply can support one space with the full 20 GB or distribute the four Boosts across several joined spaces. Contributor and Coordinator supply their stated storage benefit for assignment while the corresponding Abo remains active.

Included storage is part of the price of its Abo or pack. It is not another standalone purchase. Manage Subscription also shows standalone Boosts as paid add-ons in the monthly estimate; use the original purchase platform for the final billed amount. For a broader comparison of account levels and their benefits, see Abos.

Decide Where a Boost Applies

An available Boost is not tied to the space where you happened to purchase it. Open Manage Subscription to see Boosts that are already active and those that are Available to assign.

Unassigned storage and upload-headroom capacity stays in Available to assign until you choose a joined space.

You can manage each user-owned Boost in three ways:

Assign - Choose one of the spaces you have joined. The Boost starts helping that space after the assignment succeeds.
Move - Select another joined space. The old space loses the benefit and the new space receives the same Boost.
Unassign - Remove the benefit from its current space and return the Boost to your available supply.

Assignment does not transfer ownership to the space or another member. You remain the person who can direct the Boost, and it can only be assigned to a space you have joined. The built-in storage that a published root space may receive is different: it is a space baseline, not part of anyone's available Boost supply, and cannot be moved through subscription management.

Follow Assign or Move a Space Boost for the complete workflow and checkpoints.

Understand the Space-Wide Effect

A Boost improves a space limit, not a person's general account limits. When a storage Boost is assigned, the chosen space gains that storage capacity. When upload headroom is assigned, joined users uploading to that space use the higher space-wide file-size limit.

The Boost does not change the surrounding access rules:

Members still need permission to reach the space area and perform the upload.
Private areas remain private, and ownership or role restrictions continue to apply.
Upload headroom does not bypass the space's available-storage check.
File type and other normal upload boundaries still apply.

This means a Boost can make more capacity available without granting broader access. Someone who cannot open or contribute to an area does not gain that ability because another member assigned a Boost.

When the Supplying Subscription Ends

A recurring Boost remains usable only while the product supplying it is active. This applies to standalone Boosts and to storage included with Contributor, Coordinator, or Designer Pack.

After cancellation, the product normally remains active through the current billing period. When that access expires, its Boost supply is removed. If a supplied Boost was assigned, the space also loses that storage or upload-headroom effect; it does not become a permanent space benefit.

Before ending a subscription, review where its Boosts are assigned and whether those spaces still depend on the capacity. Moving or unassigning a Boost changes its destination, but it does not preserve the benefit after the supplying subscription expires. See Managing Paid Access for cancellation, billing periods, and account review.

Common Questions

Can I buy a Boost now and choose a space later?

Yes. Buying a Boost creates available supply first. It affects a space only after you assign it.

Does everyone in the space benefit from my Boost?

Yes. The assigned limit is space-wide, so other members uploading there benefit too. Their normal permissions and upload rules still apply.

Can I assign a Boost to any public space?

No. The assignment picker is limited to spaces you have joined.

Can I split one 5 GB Boost between two spaces?

No. Each Boost has one destination at a time. Designer Pack is more flexible because its 20 GB benefit arrives as four separate 5 GB Boosts.

Will an upload-headroom Boost give the space more storage?

No. It raises the per-file limit by 5 MB but leaves available storage unchanged. Choose a storage Boost when the space needs more total capacity.

Why does a Boost show as included instead of adding to my monthly Boost cost?

It came with an eligible Abo or Designer Pack, so its cost is already part of that subscription. A standalone Boost is a separate paid add-on.

What happens to files if an assigned Boost ends?

The verified effect is that the Boost's extra limit is removed from the space. Current public guidance does not establish automatic deletion of existing files; review the reduced capacity before adding more content.

Where can I compare Boosts with the other paid options?

Start with Payments for the relationship between Abos, app access, Space Boosts, and Award top-ups.
