Lexi practice turns study entries into short questions with immediate feedback. Choose Mixed practice for a varied review, or work on one challenge when you know what needs attention.
Pick A Challenge
Mixed practice rotates through the available challenge types and favors unseen or weaker material. It avoids recently shown entries when alternatives exist and waits for scheduled reviews when nothing is due.
The individual challenges use the material in different ways:
General definitions support the first two challenges. Words can also support Missing word and Spelling when suitable. Sentences use the two reconstruction challenges. If a challenge has no suitable material, add the relevant entries or choose another mode.
Make The Session Fit Your Goal
The Focus control selects All progress or one learning status. A focused session checks that status for the actual challenge direction. An entry can therefore appear in Failed for one challenge and Mastered for another.
Choose one or more practice flags to include entries matching any selected name. Clear the flag selection to include all entries again. These controls affect the practice session; search and category filters in Study are for browsing material.
Choices offers 6, 8, or 10 options. A small collection may produce fewer distinct alternatives. Changing the number of choices keeps the current prompt and your position in a sentence.
Read Feedback Before Moving On
Choose an option to see whether it is correct and which answer was expected. Next or Enter advances after feedback. Auto next can handle that transition for you when you prefer a steady rhythm.
For sentence reconstruction, choose every word in order, including the displayed capitalization and punctuation. Correct intermediate choices advance automatically. One incorrect word makes the completed sentence unsuccessful, even if you finish the remaining words correctly. Available sentence examples appear once the sentence has resolved, so they do not reveal the unfinished answer.
The Answer button reveals the complete solution and records an unsuccessful attempt. It stays visible until you advance manually, even with Auto next enabled. Skip also records an unsuccessful attempt, moves on immediately, and keeps the entry out of the rest of that session. Neither action marks an entry as learned.
Use The Keyboard
With practice active, 1–9 select the matching options and 0 selects option 10. Use Enter after feedback, Escape to leave practice, and Q to return to the top. In the full workspace, held W, A, S, and D scroll the focused surface; holding Space while dragging with the primary mouse button also moves through it.
Common Questions
Why does Lexi say there is nothing to practice?
The collection may be empty, entries may lack answers, or your selected challenge, focus, and flags may leave no eligible material. Mixed practice can also be waiting for the next scheduled review. Clear restrictions or choose a specific challenge to revisit material sooner.
Can I practice mastered material again?
Yes. Choose Mastered as a focus, or select a particular challenge. Focused practice can revisit material before its scheduled review.
Will a slow correct answer count as wrong?
It is still correct, but it does not build the fast-answer streak needed for mastery. See Progress and settings.
