Interactions let you describe how a place is meant to behave and compare different designs within it. They are useful for game ideas, spatial stories and presentations, provided everyone understands that Stage records intent rather than running a simulation.
Describe The Intended Experience
The Interactions menu offers Trigger, Timer, Spawn, Path, Crowd, Link, Variants and Sequence. Most create selectable markers whose Inspector records the intended behavior and the scene objects it concerns.
Target order matters where it expresses a sequence or source-to-destination relationship. Most targeted interactions support up to 64 references. Deleting a referenced object removes it from surviving target lists; a Link disappears if an endpoint is deleted.
A Link has no visible line in the scene. Find it in Structure and Inspector. Use a drawn line or Path when the relationship needs a visible mark.
Compare A, B And C
Variants holds up to three alternative objects or groups. Use A, B or C to show one choice, or Compare to show all referenced choices. Changing the active alternative also changes their saved visibility in one undoable action.
This makes Variants appropriate for reviewing a different bench arrangement, entrance or building mass. Group each multi-object alternative before adding it, so the choice represents the whole arrangement.
Walk Through An Ordered Idea
Sequence keeps an ordered list of scene objects. Previous and Next move through the authored active step; Inspector also records duration and repeat intent. It is a manual outline for review, not an automatically playing animation.
Common Questions
Why does my trigger do nothing when I enter it?
Triggers describe planned behavior. Stage does not execute triggers, advance timers, spawn actors or move objects along Paths.
Why is Link unavailable?
Select exactly two spatial objects. Groups and connectors are not eligible Link endpoints.
Is choosing a variant only a local view setting?
No. A/B/C and Compare change the referenced objects' saved visibility. Use local scene-layer controls when you only want to simplify your own view.
Follow compare alternative layouts to prepare a review.
