Chat management helps a space keep its discussions useful and its custom emoji recognizable. The controls available to you depend on whether you own the space, have Manage Chat access, or authored the item you want to change.
Match The Action To Your Access
These distinctions let someone help organize the discussion without taking over every contributor’s writing. Read Topics and Summaries before moving or deleting a topic.
Keep The Emoji Catalog Useful
Open Space Administration, then Emoji, to see the active images, their names, who uploaded them, and the remaining slots. Each space has room for 50 active custom emoji.
Emoji administration keeps the space catalog, remaining capacity, and upload entry point in one place.
Choose names that members can recognize and artwork that remains clear at a small size. Remove outdated entries when they no longer serve the space; deleting an emoji frees a slot but does not rewrite old messages.
Custom Emoji explains the limits and where the images appear. Follow Add and Manage Custom Emoji for the upload, crop, name, and verification steps.
Common Questions
Does Manage Chat let me rewrite another person’s message?
No. Ordinary message editing stays with the author. Managing topics and emoji does not transfer authorship.
Can I move a discussion to another space?
No. A topic can move to an accessible published activity in the same space, keeping its summary and messages together.
Can members use custom emoji without managing them?
Yes. Members can use the available catalog in supported conversation surfaces. Adding or removing entries requires the space owner or Manage Chat access.
Return to Chat for the member experience, or Create and Summarize a Topic to prepare a discussion and preserve its outcome.
