Make a small landscape with a raised area, a planting patch and a pool in the low ground. Start with a scene you authored and decide the rough footprint before creating terrain.
Shape The Ground
Each released brush stroke is one edit. Undo an unwanted stroke before making several compensating changes.
If you prefer painting an elevation image, choose Paint terrain heights. Lighter paint raises and darker paint lowers the surface. Use Preview, then Apply or Cancel, and close or apply the paint session before returning to the 3D terrain brushes.
Give The Ground A Surface
Open Materials for the selected terrain. Choose a Gentle texture for flatter areas and a Cliff texture for steeper faces, then adjust their scale and slope transition. Return to Material or Rendered mode if you were inspecting in Solid or Wireframe.
Add Planting And Water
Use Rendered mode to inspect motion and Material mode for a still surface. If you need a painted stream independent of a terrain fill, create a painted patch and shape its coverage and flow instead.
Check Before Saving
Look from the side to check plant placement, water level and terrain edges. Moving the terrain later does not automatically move its planting, so review them together after layout changes.
Wait for the saved status before leaving. For an island with an opening through its body, continue with cut a cave into terrain.
