Use this guide when you have started an article, left it unfinished, and want to return without creating a duplicate. Sign in with the account that created the draft.
Find the Existing Draft
If the draft is absent, check the account and destination before creating a replacement. Someone else's ordinary draft is not available merely because you belong to the same space.
Resume Writing and Confirm Saving
Edit the title and selected summary, then continue the body if the subject needs one. Watch the article's save state and any field-specific retry controls after substantial changes.
Do not reload solely to dismiss an error while important text remains unconfirmed. Copy essential window-only wording first if recovery cannot proceed.
Publish When the Work Is Ready
If publication fails, continue with the existing draft. Starting another article does not recover the first draft's pending changes.
Leave Again or Discard the Work
You can stop before publishing once saves are confirmed. Reopen the same draft later using the draft feed.
Delete only when you want to discard the article and its linked post. Delete body has a narrower effect: it clears the long-form body after confirmation while preserving the title and summary.
See Drafts and Saving for save-state meanings and Create and Publish an Article for the complete first-time authoring flow.
