Meetings bring voice, video, screen sharing, and shared work into Visual Space. Users can stay close to the activity or conversation where the call began.
Start And Join Meetings
•
Direct-message calls - Users can start private calls from direct messages and return to the conversation when they close the meeting stage.
•
Visible activity - Active meetings show their duration, participants, and live media status in activity and conversation panels.
•
Space meeting badges - Joined-space avatars show when a meeting is active, helping users notice conversations already in progress.
•
Meeting invitations - Participants can search for eligible people and invite them. Recipients can join or dismiss the invitation from a compact notification.
•
Smooth switching - Users can move between activity meetings without dropping the current call until the next room connects.
See And Hear Everyone
•
Flexible layouts - Grid, stage, and focus layouts help users see everyone or give one camera, share, or live app more room.
•
Parallel screen sharing - Several participants can share at once, and each shared screen can be selected as its own feed.
•
Media controls - Users can mute, use a camera, or share a screen. They can also choose available microphones, speakers, cameras, and desktop share sources.
•
Picture-in-picture - Closing the full stage can keep the selected feed visible in a movable preview with essential call controls.
•
Workspace continuity - A meeting stays connected while users continue reading, editing, or moving through the surrounding Visual Space workspace.
•
Connection guidance - The stage shows call quality and reconnecting states. Clear alerts explain when media or reconnection cannot recover.
Participate In The Room
•
Live reactions - Participants can send standard or space-specific emoji reactions that briefly appear across the stage and on their feed.
•
Raised hands - Participants can raise or lower a hand, while an ordered queue helps the room follow who asked to speak first.
•
Participant awards - Users can recognize another participant with an Award during an activity meeting, with a brief celebration shown to the room.
•
Room moderation - Space owners and members with chat-management permission can mute or remove participants from activity meetings.
Work Together Live
•
Live app feeds - Activity meetings can open Articles, Polls, Retrospectives, Whiteboards, Canvas, and Frames as selectable shared feeds.
•
Browse or create - Participants can choose existing work from the space or create supported drafts without leaving the meeting.
•
Connected workspaces - Whiteboards, Canvas, Frames, and Retrospectives can fill the stage while their tools remain available around the meeting.
•
Access-aware creation - Some collaborative apps require Coordinator or app access. The meeting explains when the needed access is unavailable.
•
Shared endings - When a live app ends, it leaves everyone's stage. Remaining live apps close when the meeting finishes.
After The Call
•
Quick feedback - Users can rate a meeting after leaving, add issue tags and comments, retry after an error, or skip the prompt.
•
Reliable presence - Meeting rows and space badges update as people join or leave, then clear when the room ends.
Current Limits
•
Ad-hoc meetings - Meetings do not yet include scheduling, reminders, public invitation links, or recording.
•
One call at a time - Each user can join one meeting at a time.
•
Activity-only live apps - Live apps are available in activity meetings, but not in direct-message calls.
