A scene is most useful when you can return to it and other people can understand what changed. Stage combines save status, local Undo history, a linked Article and Comments around the same document.
Know What Has Been Saved
Watch the document's save status after editing. A completed save means the work has been accepted; a pending edit or upload is still in progress. Terrain and cave edits may need extra time because their source content must also be saved.
Use the editor menu's Retry / save scene when a save needs another attempt. Stage retains pending work during recoverable failures, but retained work and a completed save are different states.
If a conflict or recovery message appears, follow the offered reopen or Resume retained session choice. Reopening preserves retained edits for recovery; it does not mean those edits have already become part of the saved scene. Where another open window owns the retained work, return to that window rather than creating a competing copy of the edit.
Review Together
The author edits the scene. Other signed-in members with access to the owning area can view it, see shared changes and use the available discussion surfaces. Presence pointers help show what someone is looking at, while each viewer keeps control of their own camera and selection.
Use the linked Article for context that should outlast a single comment: the goal of the design, its constraints and the decisions still open. Comments keep the conversation beside the scene. Neither requires crowding the 3D composition with every detail.
Undo, Copy And Storage
Undo and Redo follow your local edits. Completed creations, transforms and brush strokes appear as coherent actions; History describes the local actions rather than providing an arbitrary jump to any earlier scene state.
A Docs copy creates a separate scene identity. Use this when you need an independent document, and Variants when alternatives should remain together in one scene.
Open Doc Details in the editor, or Details from the document's context menu, to inspect the saved storage charged to the space. Current scene and terrain content counts whether the document is public or private. Unsaved edits and obsolete versions do not add to that saved total.
Common Questions
Why has editing paused?
A lost connection, changed access or unresolved recovery state can pause editing. Read the status and use the offered retry or recovery action.
Does deleting the scene remove my imported files and renders?
Deleting the scene's Docs document removes the scene. Independent imported files and render images remain separate Docs content.
Can another member edit because they can see my pointer?
No. Presence and viewing access do not change the author-only editing rule.
