Build Formulas Visually

Start in your space - Open MathPad from Apps, browse available formula files by area or folder, and start with a clean empty formula.

Direct formula editing - The MathPad guide explains how to type into rendered math, select parts with the pointer, and move through nested placeholders with the arrow keys or Tab.
•
Common structures - Add fractions, powers, subscripts, brackets, parentheses, and basic operators without writing every command manually.
•
Safe changes - Undo and redo restore both the formula and selection. Copy, cut, and paste work through MathPad's formula clipboard.
•
Flexible workspace - Zoom large formulas, inspect their structure on desktop, and keep the main editing area usable on smaller screens.
Find The Right Input

Visual ribbon - Browse formula categories through previews and shortcut hints. Supported commands insert at the current selection without replacing unrelated work.
•
Touch keyboard - Enter letters, numbers, operators, and supported structures from a layered formula keyboard with navigation and editing controls.
•
Command search - Search by familiar names or notation. MathPad explains when a listed command is not ready instead of changing the formula unexpectedly.
•
Nearby actions - Open the keyboard, command browser, and clipboard actions beside the current formula using pointer or touch controls.
Understand And Reuse Formulas

Structure outline - Explore the formula as an outline, jump to nested parts, and review the variables, functions, and operators it contains.
•
Portable exports - Copy formulas as LaTeX, Typst, MathJSON, MathML, or plain text. Warnings identify conversions that may lose or change notation.
•
Accessible output - Formulas provide keyboard guidance, meaningful selection announcements, plain-language text, speech-friendly text, and MathML output.
•
Article formulas - Article authors can add inline or block formula links. Stored snapshots provide accessible content, copying, and a path back to MathPad.
Current Limits
•
Temporary drafts - Draft formulas, selections, and history last only for the current app session. They are not saved across refreshes, devices, or later sessions.
•
No shared editing - Realtime collaboration, collaborator presence, and shared history are not available yet.
•
Growing command support - The ribbon and keyboards show a broad catalog, but many advanced structures remain unavailable. Source input supports a limited LaTeX subset.
•
Snapshot-based embeds - Article formula links do not load the latest formula automatically. Without a stored snapshot, readers see a linked-formula placeholder.
•
Future tools - Handwriting input, editable presentation settings, and AI formula actions are not available yet.
