Create a small illustration with a background, subject, and separate detail layer, then save both the working document and a finished image. You need a Coordinator Abo and access to the space where you want to create the file. Choose that space and destination before starting.

You need a Coordinator Abo and access to the space where you want to create the file. Choose that space and destination before starting.

Create The Document

•
Open Pixels - Choose Pixels from Apps and browse to the intended area or folder.
•
Create a file - Give it a recognizable name, such as Garden sprite, and choose a small preset or enter custom dimensions. 64 Γ— 64 is a manageable first pixel-art canvas.
•
Check the workspace - Wait until the artwork is ready, then open Layers. Use Fit on Screen if the canvas is difficult to see.

Build The Illustration

•
Separate the parts - Create raster layers for the background, subject, and details. Name them before the stack becomes crowded.
•
Block in the subject - Select its content thumbnail, choose Pencil or Brush, and set a foreground color. Paint the main silhouette before adding small detail.
•
Add depth - Put a shadow or highlight on a separate layer so it can be moved or faded independently.
•
Compare the composition - Toggle layer visibility and adjust opacity. Reorder a layer if it covers the wrong part of the drawing.

Zoom in for individual pixels, then return to a whole-image view. A crisp enlarged edge is useful for editing; the smaller view tells you whether the subject reads clearly.

Keep The Result

•
Save the work - Choose More > Save and wait for the current work to show as saved.
•
Keep an editable copy - Choose More > Save as Layered Project if you want a separate .vspixels download.
•
Export an image - Choose More > Export As > PNG and inspect the downloaded image at its intended size.

The shared file or layered project is your editable source. The PNG is the finished image you can use elsewhere.

If painting has no effect, check the layer lock, visibility, selected thumbnail, and any remaining selection. See Drawing And Selections for the most common causes.
