Layouts is a friendly 2D workspace for room plans, renovation sketches, office arrangements, and event setups. This first release establishes the drawing, navigation, and sharing foundation.
Draw A Layout
•
Doors and windows - Place simple doors and windows directly onto walls, with positioning that keeps each opening inside its wall.
•
Notes and measurements - Add text labels, measured lines, and rectangles for dimensions, names, and quick visual notes.
•
Smart alignment - Snap new points to the grid, nearby wall ends, wall lines, or 45-degree angles for cleaner plans.
•
Edit as you go - Select and move plan elements, then duplicate, delete, or resize supported items without redrawing them.
Navigate And Review
•
Measured canvas - Pan and zoom across a meter-based grid, fit the planning area to the screen, or reset the view.
•
Layout details - Inspect selected elements and review useful totals for rooms, walls, openings, labels, measurements, and shapes.
•
Undo and export - Undo or redo local changes with familiar shortcuts, then export the visible canvas as a PNG image.
•
Desktop and mobile - Desktop users get dedicated tool areas and panels, while narrow screens keep scrollable tools and a compact details sheet.
Create And Share
•
Space-area library - Create and browse layouts in the current space, subspace, or activity, including layouts stored inside folders.
•
Focused workspace - Each layout opens in a fullscreen editor with clear loading, access, missing-file, retry, and return options.
•
One active editor - One person can edit a draft at a time. Everyone else can still inspect it in a clearly marked read-only view.
•
Publish when ready - The active editor can publish a draft, making its layout entry available as read-only content to people with area access.
•
Private areas - Layouts stored in private areas remain limited to people who already have access to those areas.
Current Limits
•
Session-only drawings - Drawings exist only in the current editor session. Reloading, leaving, or reopening the layout starts with an empty canvas.
•
Publishing limitation - Publishing shares the layout entry and makes it read-only, but it does not save the drawing currently on the canvas.
•
Standalone workspace - Layouts is not yet available inside meetings and does not support simultaneous collaborative editing.
•
Basic shape set - Rectangle drawing is available. Ellipses, lines, and arrows are planned for a later update.
