Visual Space offers two kinds of recognition. Awards are flexible, spendable reactions for everyday contributions. Medals are rare, lasting honors given on behalf of a space.
Awards For Everyday Appreciation
•
Who can give them - Space owners and members with Add awards permission can give Awards in areas they can access.
•
Where Awards work - Users can award posts, articles, goals, and events. Awards also support public chat messages, meeting participants, and whiteboards.
•
Choose your signal - Users select an illustrated Award, choose a quantity within their balance, and confirm before sending.
•
Visible appreciation - Award counts show each style received, and users can open them to see who contributed.
•
Live moments - Awards appear quickly in public chat and active meetings, while whiteboard Awards become visible cards on the board.
Your Spendable Award Balance
•
Starter balance - New users receive 10 permanent Awards to begin recognizing other people and their work.
•
More Awards - Contributor includes 10 subscription Awards and Coordinator includes 25, refreshed with each subscription cycle.
•
Award packs - One-time packs add 5, 10, or 20 permanent Awards to a user's balance.
•
My Awards - Account Settings shows the available balance plus Received and Gifted histories, with links back to content when it remains available.
•
Lasting recognition - Sent Awards stay with their content even if the giver's subscription later ends.
Medals For Lasting Recognition
•
When to use Medals - Give a Medal for meaningful, lasting contribution that deserves a certificate-style endorsement rather than an everyday reaction.
•
Rare by design - Medals cannot be purchased and never use a member's personal Award balance.
•
Who can give them - Space owners and members with Give medals permission can grant Medals on behalf of an eligible joined space.
•
Shared allowance - Each space can grant five Medals per month, shared by everyone authorized to give them.
•
Recognition categories - Givers can choose from 21 illustrated Medals covering technical, creative, scientific, educational, social, and business contributions.
•
Personal certificates - Before giving a Medal, the giver previews its certificate and adds a required personal message of up to 280 characters.
•
Profile showcase - Earned Medals appear on member profiles, where users can open each one to read its original certificate.
•
Medal history - My medals keeps separate Received and Gifted histories with the people, space, date, category, and recognition message.
Current Limits
•
Public conversations only - Awards are available in public space chat, but not in direct messages.
•
Account history scope - Received Award history covers supported content and public chat, but not Awards received in meetings or on whiteboards.
•
No undo - Sent Awards cannot currently be taken back from the user interface.
